As a Professor of Parasitology at UCAD in Senegal, Malaria advisor at the Senegalese MoH , at WHO Africa, and at the Gates Foundation, he coordinated more than forty years of research on malaria and several parasitic diseases, which led to strategies that have impacted the decision-making of malaria management policies. He coordinated the Ph.D. training program in Malaria and human diseases at UCAD and chaired the research committee of the Malaria Control Program for 20 years. He is a founding member of RBM in West Africa.
